Be it the youthful and loyal friendship of Anne and Diana, the oddly compatible relationship of polar opposites, Marilla and Rachel; the mentorship of Miss Stacy with her students; the “kindred” connection between Anne and Matthew or even the amused admiration of Aunt Jo for the “Anne-girl”, Anne of Green Gables is filled with stories of friendship. Maybe it is for this reason that Montgomery’s novel seems to have inspired a great number of friendship groups and clubs all around the world. The groups vary greatly in their size, focus and activities but the spirit of friendship and camaraderie is present in all of them.

Are you a member of a group or club that was inspired by Montgomery’s Anne of Green Gables? Tell us about it!
